A children’s doctor appeared in court yesterday charged with a string of sexual assaults on young boys.

Dr Myles Bradbury, 41, of Herringswell, allegedly assaulted his victims while working as a consultant paediatric haematologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

He is said to have committed 11 attacks while in a position of trust as the doctor of the youngsters.

The charges include two of assaulting an 11 year-old boy by touching in September and November last year and two similar counts relating to a 12 year-old boy last November.

He also faces two counts of causing or inciting a boy aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity without penetration on occasions between April 2012 and November 2013.

There are also two further counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a boy aged 13 to 15 by sexual touching between December 2011 and July 2013.

Bradbury is also charged with making 16,629 indecent still images and 20 indecent videos of children on or before December 18, 2013.

He is also charged with voyeurism after allegedly recording a person carrying out a private act for his own sexual gratification without their permission on or before the same date.

He made no indication of a plea during a brief appearance before magistrates in Cambridge.

Bradbury was released on bail and sent the case to Cambridge Crown Court where he is due to appear on July 11.
