A charity rugby match will be held in memory of John Walsh, who died aged 18 following a tragic accident.
The event is on Sunday, August 28 at Stowmarket Rugby Club, in Chilton Way, in aid of charity Canine Partners, which provides assistance dogs.
John, of Onehouse, who passed away following a car accident last May, was a well known figure in Stowmarket having played rugby for the town and represented Stowmarket Judo Club. He also trained at Hurstlea Boxing Club, in Needham Market.
The former Stowmarket High School pupil, who completed a public services course at West Suffolk College, had started his own dog walking, boarding and sitting business as he loved working with animals - particularly dogs.
Last year’s game raised more than £1,700 for the charity and helped to purchase a puppy Fennel who is undergoing training.
The event, which includes a tombola/raffle, starts at 1pm.
