A DRUG and alcohol rehabilitation charity has received a £30,000 donation from a foundation set up in memory of late superstar Amy Winehouse.
Focus12, in Risbygate Street, Bury St Edmunds, accepted the money, which will pay for a residential bed for people aged 18 to 22 for a year, from the singer’s father Mitch and stepmother Jane.
The pair also officially opened the charity’s new therapy centre, The Annexe, in St John’s Street, specialising in non-addiction related counselling services.
The Amy Winehouse Foundation was set up in the wake of the 27-year-old’s death to support charitable activities that help and care for young people.
