ST NICHOLAS Hospice Care is among hundreds of charities that will be able to double their money this month.
Through March, the website www.localgiving.com is matching donations made through the site. It says that with Gift Aid, which gives the charity Income Tax donors paid, £20 would be worth more than £43 after administration fees.
St Nicholas Hospice Care is one of five Suffolk charities taking part. The others are Families in Need, Home-Start Babergh, Suffolk Artlink and Rural Coffee Caravan. There are also 53 Norfolk charities taking part including three from the Thetford area: Thetford Music Project, Fulmerston Family and Community Project and Bridgham Millennium Group.
Up to £20,000 will be match-funded for each charity.
Ben O’Hanlon, St Nicholas Hospice Care’s trusts and partnerships fund-raiser, said: “This campaign is an easy way for people who want to help the hospice to ensure any donation they make goes even further. I urge people to log on and dig deep.”
To donate, visit www.localgiving.com/findacharity and search by place name, postcode or region, or insert the charity’s name after www.localgiving.com/, for example www.localgiving.com/stnicholashospicecare
