Charitable group take to the skies

THREE women will jump out of a plane next month to help a drug and alcohol rehabilitation charity in Bury St Edmunds.

Helen Aitchison, 38, from Thurston, had always weighed too much to do a skydive but, determined to jump to raise money for Focus 12, she has managed to lose three stone.

She will be joined by Emily McMillan, a 28-year-old former drug addict who has turned her life around with help from Focus 12.

“I’m doing it to give something back because they saved my life,” said Emily.

Also taking to the skies is 18-year-old Ashlea Smith, who lost her grandad through alcoholism and became inspired when her mum, who was afraid of flying, skydived last year.
