A handcrafted metal tree where loved ones who have died can be remembered is opening to the public tomorrow (March 19).
The Tree of Reflection open morning, at St Nicholas Hospice Care, in Hardwick Lane, Bury St Edmunds, will give anyone interested in remembering a loved one – whether they were cared for by the hospice or not – a chance to see the tree.
The event, from 10am to noon, is being held to mark the first anniversary of the Tree of Reflection and to promote it more widely.
The unique tree, which was forged from stainless steel by Stowlangtoft metalworkers and blacksmiths Designs on Metal, stands in the hospice’s gardens.
Following a donation, copper or aluminium leaves are inscribed with a loved one’s name and family and friends can visit the tree at any time.
