Chance to meet a bishop at the Suffolk Show
More than 2,000 visitors are expected to visit the Church of England’s marquee, with families joining the county’s Bishop Martin in playing a variety of fun activities including a retro arcade machine, buzz wire and dress up photo booth.
Families visiting the Church marquee are also helping make a sculpture of an angel out of paper that will later tour Suffolk, enjoying hourly puppet shows from 11am, free refreshments and live music amongst a host of activities during both days this year.
The Rt Rev Martin Seeley, Bishop of the St Edmundsbury and Ipswich Diocese, said: “The show is an ideal opportunity to display how our churches connect with Suffolk communities in so many different ways.
“We are showing as much as possible the different activities happening in our churches, how we connect with people, and the difference we are making."
You will be able to join in the fun via their Facebook and Twitter feeds and there will be live videostreams, questions and polls throughout the days by Following #suffolkconnect #cofeconnect
The Rt Rev Dr Mike Harrison, Bishop of Dunwich, said: “One of the wonderful treasures of Suffolk are its churches and just a taste of the creativity, energy and diversity of church engagement and activity can be seen at the Church of England marquee.”
The Church is at Tradestand White 603 on the Flower Show Avenue next to Adnams Beach Eats and opposite Ipswich Town Football Club and BBC Radio Suffolk for the Suffolk Show today and tomorrow.
