Community organisations in Bury are being invited to compete for funding at a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style event.

Cllr Joanna Rayner who represents the Abbeygate Ward, has £2,500 of locality grant funds to award organisations that ‘make a difference’ in the community.

The event is at the Apex coffee bar on November 3, from 3.30pm to 5pm, and will see organisations pitching their ideas, much like in the television show Dragon’s Den.

It is the second event like this that Cllr Rayner has run and she hopes this one would be as successful as the last in encouraging worthy causes to come forward.

She said: “I am looking to fund projects that will make a difference to the lives of families living in the area or bring communities together.”
