The president of the Bury St Edmunds Chamber of Commerce is asking firms to donate towards a project in poverty stricken Madagascar.

Andrew Denny, managing director of Fix-A-Form, part of Denny Bros, is going to Madagascar later this summer with school children, as part of a project to build a shop where local people can sell their goods to tourists visiting the rain forests.

Mr Denny is asking firms to donate £100 towards the project. In return he will take their company logo, newsletter or mascot, and take a photograph of it with the students and local people outside the newly built shop.

The photographs can then be used for advertising, website, newsletters or other promotional material to show customers how their business helped local students to protect the environment.

The students will be paying all their own travel and living expenses, so every penny of donations will be spent on the project.

Businesses interested in donating to the project should email
