Bury St Edmunds dental practice takes top spot in dentistry awards
Guildhall Dental has been named best practice for the Eastern Region in the Private Dentistry Awards announced in December.
The practice, which provides services for 10,000 people in and around Bury St Edmunds, came regional runner up in the previous year’s awards and staff were thrilled when they learned they had taken the top practice accolade
Faith Phillips, practice manager, said: “This was very good news as there was a lot of competition for this prestigious award and it acknowledges all the hard work our staff and dentists have carried out over the year.”
The practice, which has been operating in Bury for the past 80 years or more, was purchased by national group Gensmile Dental nearly two years ago.
To qualify for the awards the practice had to submit information about its patient care services, staff training, disabled facilities and charity work as well as explaining how it provided a good service for its patients, including testimonials from patients themselves.
The practice, which began in Guildhall Street, moved into purpose-built facilities in St Andrew’s Street South in 2013. It operates 10 surgeries with 34 staff, including dentists. and provides a range of services including orthodontics, endodontics and restorative dentistry.
Mr John Hare, oral surgeon at Guildhall Dental, said: “We were thrilled to receive the Award for Practice of the Year East.
"At Guildhall Dental we continuously strive to deliver excellence in clinical dental care.
"All our staff work hard to make our patients’ experience comfortable and stress free."
"To receive this award is testament to a great team at Guildhall Dental."
