Residents at Cedars Park in Stowmarket are being invited to give their views on a proposed leisure and employment development at the main entrance to the estate.

Developer Seamans Building is hosting a public exhibition tomorrow from 11.30am to 4pm at Cedars Park Community Centre.

Seamans would like to develop a mix of uses into the area including a pub/restaurant, a hotel, a gym, fast food outlets as well as areas for employment.

Duncan Hayden, from Seamans, said he was interested to hear what the the community had to say about the development.

He said: “As a local company we particularly want to give local residents and the public generally an opportunity to be involved in shaping a future planning application for this site, which is a key site in completing the Cedars Park development. We anticipate that the site will provide leisure uses including a gym, pub/restaurant and other food outlets as well as employment opportunities.”

Cedars Park Residents Association Chairman Kevin Stobbs said he was in favour of the proposals.

“We have been in talks with Seamans since before Christmas, he said.

“We are behind the project and want it to go forward.”
