Three members of St Edmundsbury Cathedral’s staff will ‘sleep out’ at the cathedral overnight on Friday, September 18 to support homeless people.

The cathedral Dean team has decided to take the Advent Sleepout Challenge which is organised by the Church Urban Fund.

The Dean the Very Reverend Dr Frances Ward; Cathedral Administrator Tony Kimber, and Head of HR Sarah-Jane Allison will sleep in the Cathedral Cloisters overnight.

“We want to do something to raise money to support homeless people and people trapped in poverty,” said Mr Kimber, who made the initial suggestion to his colleagues.

“Anyone who wants to come along and support – by helping, donating or sleeping out – is more than welcome.”
