Cathedral serves free music at lunchtime
The free lunchtime recitals season at St Edmundsbury Cathedral begins tomorrow with an organ performance by David Philips at 1.10pm.
The recitals last about 40 minutes and the audience can bring a lunch or buy a snack from the Pilgrims’ Kitchen.
Dan Soper, the Bury St Edmunds cathedral’s assistant director of music, said: “Building on the success of last year’s series, we are pleased to offer a rich programme of music to suit all tastes, including violin, cello, piano and organ recitalists as well as local school students.”
Next Friday’s is a mixed recital from County Upper School while future recitals include two trios of violin, cello and piano, the New England Chorale, a mixed recital from King Edward VI School and the duo Illumia, which combines trumpet and organ.
