Cash and jewellery stolen from elderly couple during distraction burglary in Wake Avenue, Mildenhall

Cash and jewellery were taken from an elderly couple's home during a distraction burglary in Mildenhall yesterday (Monday).

The incident occurred at a house in Wake Avenue at around 12.20pm after a man approached the couple saying he had lost his dog.

Entry to the property was then gained through an insecure door while the couple sat in the living room, with cash and items of jewellery stolen.

The man is described as white, clean shaven, and of slim build. He was also dressed all in blue and possibly wearing gloves.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call Bury St Edmunds CID on 101, quoting crime reference 37/1280/19.
