Case dropped against man accused of possessing bladed article on school premises

The prosecution of a man from Bury St Edmunds alleged to have been in possession of a bladed article on school premises has been dropped.

At Ipswich Crown Court, the Crown Prosecution Service today told Mr Recorder Ian Evans that no evidence was being offered against Jonathan Abbott.

Mr Abbott, 35, of Gedge Close, Bury St Edmunds had pleaded not guilty to the alleged offence at an earlier hearing.

Mr Recorder Evans formally recorded a not guilty verdict and discharged Mr Abbott.
