Car ploughs into Currys PC World in Bury St Edmunds




A car has ploughed into Currys PC World on Moreton Hall in Bury St Edmunds.

Suffolk Police were called at about 9.35am to reports that a Chrysler Grand Voyager had 'gone right into the shop' in Eastlea Road with 'significant structural damage' to the building.

The ambulance service attended after reports of minor injuries and a structural engineer was called.

Damage has also been caused to a stationary Ford Escort car.

The shop was cordoned off.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called just before 9.40am today to reports of a collision in Eastlea Road, Bury St Edmunds.

"We sent one ambulance.

"No one required transport to hospital."

Vehicle recovery arrived just before noon and police left the scene at 12.40pm.

A Currys PC World spokesman said: "We're very thankful that no-one was injured and we're working closely with the relevant authorities.

"The store will remain closed today but will open again tomorrow morning (June 13) at 9am."
