Car crashes into ditch on A11 at Barton Mills




Emergency services were called to a single vehicle collision at Barton Mills this morning.

A grey Skoda came off the A11 southbound and ended up in a ditch with Suffolk Police alerted to the incident at 5.02am.

The East of England Ambulance Service were called as well as Suffolk Fire and Rescue, which sent three crews.

A fire service spokesman said: "We weren't required to free anybody from the vehicle.

"However, fire service provided some first aid and medical assistance while waiting for the ambulance and handed one casualty into the care of the ambulance."

A ambulance spokesman said: "We sent the hazardous area response team, an ambulance and an ambulance officer.

"One person was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for further care."

The road was cleared and vehicle recovered at 7.58am.
