Car and thousands of pounds worth of goods taken in Gazeley burglary

A house was broken into in Gazeley and a car and thousands of pounds worth of goods were stolen at the weekend.

The incident happened between 2pm on Saturday and 3.30pm on Sunday at a property in Needham Street.

A window was forced to gain entry and a number of items were stolen from inside.

More than £8,000 worth of sound system equipment was taken, including an Alchemist Forseti Pre Amplifier, two Alchemist monoblock power amplifiers, a Quad 606 power amplifier, a Roksan Caspian CD player and a Music Fidelity headphone amplifier.

The burglars also stole an Arcam DV79 DVD player valued at £1,200, an Asprey rectangular shaped gold clock in a glass case worth £1,000, antique cuff links valued at £500 which are set in gold with a mother of pearl disk and a sapphire and a Nintendo Wii games console.

A blue Mini Cooper was stolen off the drive, but recovered at around 8pm on Sunday in Ash Court, Red Lodge.

Police are appealing to anyone with information about the burglary, or who believes they may have seen the stolen car, to contact the Bury St Edmunds Priority Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
