The Campaign For Real Ale listed The Dove in Bury St Edmunds as one of the best 200 pubs in the country.
CAMRA unveiled the list as part of its Community Pubs Month, with each branch choosing its best local.
Roger and Berni Waters’ pub, in Hospital Road, is the only one in Suffolk on the list of pubs who go on to a regional list and then the National Pub of the Year.
Roger said: “The Dove has been regional pub of the year twice in 2010 and 2013 – best of about 8,500 pubs in the east.”
Roger and Berni took it over in 2009. It was their fourth pub and is run with their son Fred and ‘lots of great staff’.
