West Suffolk and Thetford-based St Nicholas Hospice Care in appeal for new trustees
A charity is seeking volunteers who could make a difference to people facing dying, death and grief.
St Nicholas Hospice Care needs new trustees to help support the Bury St Edmunds-based organisation.
Charles Simpson, chairman of the board of trustees, said: "For anyone wanting to join us and make a difference this is an exciting time for the hospice as it currently has a new strategy and is looking at new ways it can connect with the community.
"We need people who are able to help shape the strategy and offer support and guidance as we safeguard the hospice's future."
The hospice, which works across West Suffolk and Thetford, is asking anyone interested to get in touch or attend one of three open events.
"Our current trustees come from all walks of life. Although we are not involved in the day-today running of the organisation, we work together as a team in a supervisory role, providing direction to the charity's leadership team to keep St Nicholas Hospice Care moving forward while ensuring the charity is well governed," added Charles.
As well as providing services from its hospice in Bury, the charity cares for people in the community, in their own homes and runs an outreach facility in Haverhill.
Trustee open events are at 6pm on October 23 and November 7 and 1pm on November 16.
All sessions are at the hospice, off Hardwick Lane, when there will be a chance speak to trustees and an opportunity for questions.
