Bury St Edmunds business improvement district's annual general meeting open for opinion

Organisers of a scheme which has brought flower displays, Christmas lights and security measures to Bury St Edmunds town centre are seeking views on how it moves forward.

Business improvement district board members are inviting opinion at their annual general meeting.

Since the scheme was introduced in 2010, firms in a defined area have paid a levy to fund marketing, events and security.

Every five years, a ballot is held to decide its continuation. With the next vote scheduled for November, organisers are keen to hear opinion.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at The Athenaeum in Angel Hill from 6pm. Former Bury St Edmunds Town Council leader Andrew Speed has recently been named chairman of the business improvement district, taking over from Garry Easter.
