Bakers put their best efforts under the scrutiny of judges at the Mildenhall Bake Off on April 4, in aid of children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

Children presented their own Simnel cakes, practised in school with chef Ged Sharrocks, from the Riverside Hotel in Mildenhall, alongside keen bakers competing in seven other categories.

Entries were judged by Gary Reeves, of the local Lunch Bunch, and James Fairchild, of The Bedford Lodge hotel in Newmarket.
