EXPERIENCED and novice knitters alike can now enjoy their passion for the fine crafts over a fresh cup of coffee.
Victoria Beech decided to bring Café Knit to Lavenham after a throw-away comment her husband Michael made, saying ‘you’re buying so much wool, you might as well open your own wool shop’.
The business, which has operated as an online wool shop since 2008, now offers knitters a base where everything knitting-related can be purchased, or enjoyed over sweet treats and other refreshments.
“With Lavenham’s connection to the wool trade, it just seemed like an ideal place to open,” said Mrs Beech.
“People think knitting’s a dying art but there’s a big movement back into crafts,” she added.
Café Knit opens from 10am to 4.30pm. It is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays but opens when Lavenham holds its farmers’ markets.
