VISITORS to Suffolk are spending £15 for every £1 spent by a body charged with boosting tourism in the county, independent research has found.
Choose Suffolk spent £100,000 on campaigns and marketing during 2010 and generated a visitor spend of £1,549,000 East of England Tourism said.
Brigit Parker, marketing manager for Choose Suffolk, said: “We are delighted with the results of this survey. With a return on our investment of 15:1, this reinforces our confidence that we’re keeping Suffolk front-of-mind among consumers as a premier UK tourism destination.”
Tim Passmore, interim chief executive of Choose Suffolk, welcomed the news saying that tourism is worth £1.75 billion a year to the county’s economy.
