Sound and lighting firm CEG Productions founded by a team of former Bury St Edmunds school pupils, has won an Arts Council grant for a youth workshops project in Diss during the May half term.

Emrys Green, director at CEG said he was keen to involve Bury youngsters in the training and the roadshows are available to Bury organisations now.

The roadshows will include a 20 minute technical demonstration to schools and other organisations, showing some of latest equipment available and highlighting the potential of creative careers.

The week long workshop, during which 20 students aged 13 plus can achieve a Bronze Arts award qualification, will cover event planning, health and safety, marketing, stage management, lighting design, sound design, and the running of an event itself.

It will culminate in the students running a small show for their family and friends.
