YOUNG Havebury Housing Partnership tenants are being sought to take part in a training programme which could transform their lives.
A partnership between the housing provider and West Suffolk College is offering Prince’s Trust placements to young people aged between 16 and 25.
Places for the 12-week course in January are available to young people who are not in employment, education or training.
The programme will lead to a Level 1 or 2 Prince’s Trust certificate in employablility, teamwork and community skills.
Karen Mayhew, Havebury chief executive, said: “It’s a wonderful opportunity for our younger tenants who are feeling unmotivated and without a clear direction in their lives.
“The programme will help participants develop the skills they need for success in work or education. They can choose what to learn and how to learn it whilst gaining in confidence and making plans for their future.”
The Prince’s Trust programme, does not affect Jobseeker’s Allowance and, as well as offering practical skills, also provides careers advice, work placements and fund-raising opportunities.
Taster sessions will be held at the college on january 18 and 19. Fore more information go to www.havebury.com or call 0300 3300 900.
