A LEADING waste management group, which has its headquarters in Woolpit, has announced the acquisition of its second company this year.
The IWJS group now consists of three specialist waste management companies, Industrial Water Jetting Systems Ltd, based in Old Stowmarket Road, Dss Environmental Ltd, which it bought in August, and its most recent acquisition, Aquajet (GB) Ltd.
This latest move places the group in the top 10 waste management companies in the country, with a combined turnover in excess of £21 million and a work force of more than 275 staff.
Christopher Stewart, group managing director, said: “With the acquisition of Aquajet we have strengthened our UK coverage, service capability and personnel.
“All of our clients will benefit, as our ability to support them is greatly enhanced, by being able to deploy our specialist vehicles and experienced operators more effectively.”
Paul Lyon, managing director of Aquajet, said: “Over the last 16 years, Aquajet has successfully built up an enviable reputation in the waste management sector.
“I look forward to working closely with Christopher, building the business and I’m pleased our expertise will now become available to all IWJS customers.”
The IWJS group works with six water utility companies and most of the major infrastructure companies for road, rail and building projects across the UK.
To support its acquisitions, it has invested a further £4 million in vehicles, equipment and staff.
“With our excellent position in the sector, this is the springboard for us to talk to more prospective clients, win more contracts and build upon our success”, said Mr Stewart.
He added: “Key to our future is the quality of the service we provide, the speed in which we deliver it and our ability to look after our customers.”
