Former Bury St Edmunds headboy is named young professional of the year

Gary Blowers, 26, who runs Furniture Port in Bury St Edmunds and Birmingham has been named Birmingham Young Professional of the Year.

The former King Edward VI headboy, also runs a marketing agency called VIVA Aspire in Birmingham and won the award in the communications category.

He had been one of three finalists and was interviewed by a panel of judges which included Andy Street, managing director of John Lewis.

He started Furniture Port with the help of his father George and partner Michelle Woolley.

The awards were presented by Sky Sports presented Sarah-Jane Mee, with Ben Evans from sponsors FleetMilne Property joining her to present Gary with his award.
