Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett and JWT – John Kyriakou has worked at the highest levels for some of the top advertising agencies of the World.

Now, after ill health forced him to step down, John is rebuilding his career offering branding and creative services to businesses.

The 61-year-old moved to a house just outside of Bury St Edmund at the end of last year, after ‘falling in love’ with the area.

But he is far from retired and has started his own firm JAYKAY.

“I come with global extensive global experience having worked in Australia, Canada and especially Asia where I spent more than 30 years,” he said.

“During my time I have worked as a writer, executive creative director, chairman and chief executive of major advertising agencies including JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett.

“I have worked successfully on major global brands as well as very local businesses across a range of media.”

After work by a doctor in Boston last year to help with a problem with his vocal cords, John has decided to start his own business.

It will place emphasis on branding both in terms of positioning in the market place, as well as development.

John is also offering his creative services, while he hopes to provide his experience and expertise to companies, particularly those looking to establish themselves in the Asian market.

“It is absolutely critical – you really do only get one chance to get it right and if you don’t one of your competitors is going to move in very very fast.

“It is a growing market – a lot of the private banks are looking to move into Asia.

“You also need to understand the culture there and the different ways they have of doing business there,” John said.

During his time John has worked on projects for big banks and major names including IKEA, Kellogg’s, Tropicana, Motorola and LG
