Independent fashion retailer Javelin in Bury St Edmunds has teamed up with an artist as part of its latest work to attract and inspire shoppers.
Lucy Perry, a teacher of art and design, and photography at Thetford Grammar School, is displaying paintings at the Abbeygate Street shop, as part of an Art About Town initiative run by Suffolk Open Studios.
The retailer hopes the flowery paintings will inspire shoppers into revamping their wardrobes ready for spring and summer.
“I have been greatly inspired by the opportunity of collaborating with Javelin Retail and their generous support of my work,” said Lucy.
“Being able to offer my pupils every chance to explore the possibilities that are out there, such as experiencing visual merchandising within an award winning store, is hugely valuable for them.”
Javelin co-owner Joanna Clayton said: “We are hoping that some of the students who study art with Lucy might be able to become involved in a window design project giving them the opportunity to explore future career ideas.”
