AN AWARD-winning celebrity chef has been named as the new owner of a popular well-established hotel and restaurant in Lavenham.
Rumours about the future of The Angel Hotel, believed to be Lavenham’s oldest pub, had been circulating since the hotel chain it belonged to went into administration in October last year.
But it was only on Wednesday that administrators at Baker Tilly Restructuring and Recovery LLP confirmed the world famous chef Marco Pierre White had completed a sale of all six businesses in the Maypole Group.
As well as The Angel Hotel, in Lavenham, these include The Old Coach House and The Lifeboat Inn in Thornham.
All of the venues remain open for businesses as usual.
