A business start up support programme has been launched in the Thetford area.
Breckland Council has teamed up with Norfolk and Waveney Enterprise Services (NWES) to provide business support activities.
The Enterprise Norfolk programme, which is funded by Norfolk County Council, will enable people to gain the necessary skills to start a successful business and receive ongoing advice and mentoring during the first year of trading.
As part of the move business support surgeries will also be launched in Thetford.
Cllr Mark Kiddle-Morris, Breckland Council’s executive member for assets and strategic management said: “At a time when support for small businesses is difficult to obtain, this is a very valuable initiative for Breckland residents to take advantage of.
“I would encourage anybody who has an idea and the enthusiasm to start a business to contact us so they can benefit from the specialist advice and knowledge that is on offer.”
Richard Voisey, NWES Business Adviser working in Breckland said: “We are delighted that we will be able provide our advice and training in the district as research has proved that businesses starting with our help grow faster and have more chance of surviving the difficult first few years of trading.”
