George spent almost three weeks in the hospital’s neonatal unit and weighed just 4lbs 4ozs when he was born last February.

Dave, who is the new Fundraising Manager for the hospital, said: “We are delighted Northgate have agreed to come on board and support our charity efforts.

“Northgate have a great local reputation and wanted to give something back to the community – and by supporting their hospital, they are doing just that.”

Adie Smith, branch manager of Northgate Vehicle Hire in Bury, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Dave and the team in their efforts to raise money for West Suffolk Hospital.

“It is a cause which has really touched the hearts of everyone involved. We were so happy that we could support such a worthy cause through donating the support vehicle for the challenge.”

The group – who are all from the Bury St Edmunds area – and will scale Ben Nevis (4,409ft), Scafell Pike (3,210ft) and Snowdon (3,560ft) in just 24 hours, starting on Friday (12).
