About 60 former and current members of a theatre group gathered for a reunion and took a trip down memory lane as they looked over archives dating back to 1902.
The Bury St Edmunds Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (BSEAODS) show-cased a treasure trove of memories from its 113 year history including programmes, photographs, press reviews and personality profiles.
The event at the Theatre Royal attracted people from as far as Sussex and Kent as well as relatives of members from the 1950s and 60s. It was the society’s first reunion since 2003.
Joan Abbs, archivist for BSEAODS, said: “Everybody thought it was a marvelllous day. It was my idea to do this because I thought nobody sees these archives. It’s a fascinating record of the community.” The society will stage Grease at the Theatre Royal in October.
