More than £50,000 was raised by Greene King’s Hungry Horse brand for Macmillan Cancer Support from a three-day Tour de Horse challenge which stopped off at pubs including the Greengage, in Bury.

The tour saw a ‘super horse’ towed in a horsebox along a similar route to the British stages of the Tour de France.

In the weeks leading upto the challenge Hungry Horse pubs across the country held fund-raising events including fun days and head shaving.

The money raised was then sent to the nearest nominated pub on the route and handed to Super Horse when he passed through.
