Bury St Edmunds nursery promotes former apprentice
A Bury St Edmunds nursery has promoted one of its former apprentices to a managerial position.
Alice Harvey joined Little Angels Day Care, in Easlea Road, 18 months ago as a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprentice.
She received her qualification earlier this year and in recognition of her ‘dedication and hard work’ owner-manager Joan Weingaertner announced last week that she had been promoted to assistant manager.
Ms Weingaertner said: “Alice has shown unquestionable enthusiasm, commitment and passion for early childhood development as well as the day-to-day tasks involved in running the nursery.
“I wanted to commend that dedication, and publicly thank Alice for the hard work she does every single day. I hope this promotion goes some way to do that.”
Little Angles has been providing childcare to families in Bury since 2001 and in 2015 opened a second nursery in Grove Road which received a ‘good’ Ofsted rating in December last year.
Ms Weingaertner, who was recognised by inspectors for her ‘high expectations of staff’ and ‘good quality support and supervision’, said she was ‘ecstatic’ to enjoy ‘good’ Ofsted ratings at both her settings.
