Bury St Edmunds man Robert Possnet among 69 people charged over Extinction Rebellion protests




A Bury St Edmunds man is among 69 people to have been charged over the Extinction Rebellion climate change protests in London.

Robert Possnet, 57, of Nacton Lane, Bury St. Edmunds, has been charged by Metropolitan Police with an offence contrary to Section 14 of the Public Order Act 1986.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 20.

Sixty nine people have been charged in relation to the Extinction Rebellion protests.

Of the 69 charged, some have been charged with more than one offence.

The total number of charges brought is 102 including 78 for breach of Section 14 Notice of the Public Order Act 1986, 15 for obstruction of a highway and nine for obstruction of police in the course of duty.
