Bury St Edmunds Library has launched an exciting children’s book hunt to help keep youngsters entertained during the Easter holidays.

The Great Bury Library Book Hunt is a special activity for children which is free to take part in and will run from Saturday March 28 to Sunday April 12.

Participants will be given a map and tasked with finding 20 posters of popular children’s book covers which will be displayed by retailers around the town centre.

‘Hunt’ cards and maps will be available from the library in Sergeants Walk, where children will be able to claim a prize after finding all of the book covers.

Sara Yaxley, library assistant, said: “We are hoping local children will enjoy an Easter hunt with a difference.

“We’ve had great support from local retailers - some are even planning to decorate their shop windows to tie in with a book cover, so it’s great to think the town is coming together to support the idea and help us to encourage children and families to explore their town centre and local library.”

Bury Library has a variety of fun craft activities planned for the coming weeks.

They include Monsters Rock! next Saturday (March 21) and Create Your Own Roman Mosaic on March 28, as well as Make Your Own Maracas, Bottle Top Bugs, Messy Play and Marvellous Magnets, which are all due to take place in April.
