Bury St Edmunds Library is providing a free fun day of activities to celebrate 150 years since the publication of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Saturday marks the 150 year anniversary of the Lewis Carroll publication and, to celebrate, library staff will be providing a range of Alice-themed activities for children in the town’s Abbey Gardens.

Face painting, story time, crafts and croquet will be among activities taking place in the field opposite the children’s play area from 10am to 3pm.

And, thanks to support from The Bay Tree Café Bistro, Raspberry Rascals and the Friends of Bury Library, they will be provided free of charge.

Visitors to the library in Sergeants Walk, St Andrew’s Street North, will also notice that the children’s section is currently decorated with illustrations from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
