A FAMILY in Bury St Edmunds has told of their anxious wait for news of their loved one who has been missing since the New Zealand Earthquake last week.

Phil Coppeard, 41, who moved to New Zealand in November was on a bus on the way to University when the earthquake struck on Tuesday.

His parents, Barry and Barbara Coppeard, and their daughter Jo Morley, say they have an anxious wait for news about Phil.

“It is like ground hog day, we get up and wait for the phone to ring but hopes it doesn’t at the same time,” said Jo, 44.

She said that they still hope that Phil will be found alive in a hospital.

“We can’t give up hope.” Jo said.
