It’s not every day you’re asked to attend a Queen’s garden party so, when Ernie Broom was invited, it seemed only right to make his entire experience as memorable as possible.

L Fulcher Funeral Services, Bury St Edmunds, decided to supply a limousine for him and his daughter, Karen Arbon, along with a bottle of champagne, ensuring that they were treated like royalty on their journey to and from Buckingham Palace last Thursday.

Funeral director Phil Spearman said they did so “in recognition of Ernie’s relentless hard work within the community”. Ernie said Fulcher’s generosity made it a perfect day.
