More than 100 young singers from Bury St Edmunds’ stage choir The Voice Squad entertained a packed house on Saturday at St Mary’s Church, on Honey Hill.

Birgitta Kenyon, group founder and director, said: “A polished and inventive programme was presented ranging from gospel, show tunes and folk arrangements to classical pieces and sneak previews of their forthcoming shows Playing Up, Back to the Eighties and Mahna Mahna to an overwhelmingly warm reception.”

“Unsurprisingly, perhaps, from a group recently nominated Choir of the Day in the International Choral Competition Choir of the Year, and offered places in the National Festival of Music For Youth’s showcase in Birmingham Conservatoire and at the LLangollen Eisteddfod’s Choir of the World competition,” she added.
