Bury St Edmunds businesses urged to find their inner elf and raise mental health awareness
Businesses are being encouraged to find their inner elf to promote mental health awareness.
Bury St Edmunds charity Gatehouse would like to see staff at businesses across the town don an elf costume on December 4 to spread the festive cheer.
The aim is to raise the profile of mental health issues during the festive season – a time when some people may be struggling.
All businesses taking part will receive a free window sticker and a selection of the best dressed will appear in the Bury Free Press.
Amanda Bloomfield, chief executive of Gatehouse in Dettingen Way, said: “It’s important to raise awareness of mental health issues particularly in the run up to Christmas when many people are feeling isolated and alone.
“We’re hoping businesses will support us.”
Dance & Party Crazy, in St John’s Street, Bury St Edmunds, is donating £1 to Gatehouse for every elf outfit purchased and 50 pence per elf hat.
No 5 Angel Hill is donating a prize for the best dressed business.
Anyone who wants to take part should contact Amanda via firstname.lastname@example.org
