The Apex will create more opportunities for young people to get involved in the arts in West Suffolk with a new Youth Creative Board.
Next Thursday will see the first meeting of the board, at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds from 4.30pm. The board will be made up of young people aged between 14-21 who have an interest in live music or the arts.
Cllr Sarah Stamp said: “We are keen to engage and gain input from audiences of all ages and this is a fantastic opportunity for young people from any background to come and have their say and get involved in the arts on a very local basis.
“It will give young people an exciting – and quite rare - opportunity to gain real live events and programming experience, as well as the opportunity to see more live music at our award winning Apex.”
Anyone interested in finding out more should attend the meeting or contact Tom.Ogden@Westsuffolk.gov.uk
There will be a launch week of workshops and live performances taking place during May Half Term between Monday 25th and Friday 29th, with a live showcase of youth arts in the Apex Lounge at 4pm on Friday May 29.
