Bury in Bloom judges praise homes' and day centres' gardening efforts

The winners of the Bury in Bloom Senior Green Fingers Awards received their garden voucher prizes yesterday.

The awards are for nursing,care or residential homes and day centres and this year was supported by town councillors Pasty Warby, Richard Rout and Wayne Halesworth from their locality budgets.

The winners presented with their prizes at St Peter’s House, Out Risbygate, were: hanging baskets and tubs, St. Peter’s House; general appearance, Manson House; resident involvement, Stradbroke Court; use of resources and community involvement, Gatehouse Dementia Hub and creative development and overall winner, Cornwallis Court.

Judge Susan Dunne said "The standard of the gardens have improved since last year despite the drought."
