Bury Bowl-ed over by second alley mural

Landmarks of Bury St Edmunds have been painted on the wall of a bowling alley by a mother and son team from Stowmarket.

The piece, down the alleys of Bury Bowl in Eastgate Street, took artist Sharon Kulesa, 41, and her graphic and design student son Joseph, 17, around five days to complete.

Manager Claire Gouge said: “I am a Bury girl and I have wanted to do something like this for a long time.

“We live in such a lovely town and it is nice to have a little piece of Bury in here.”

Claire said it was perfect to show off to people when they return to play on August 1.

She said: “The announcement has been a mix of emotions and we cannot wait to show this and our other mural to customers next month.”

The pair have also painted another on the site thanking NHS staff and key workers.
