Burlgars target sports bar in Bury

Police in Bury St Edmunds are appealing for witnesses after a two leisure centres were targeted by burglars.

The incidents took place at around 4am on Monday October 13 at the Pot Black Sports Bar in Eastgate Street.

The first incident involved the door to the snooker hall being forced open and three tills each containing £100 were stolen from inside.

An attempt was also made to force the door of the adjacent premises, but no entry was gained.

The bar was also targeted between 9pm and 11pm on Sunday September 28, when £700 in cash and several packets of cigars were stolen from inside.

Two men were subsequently charged and sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court.
