Police are appealing for information after two burglars were disturbed at a house in Beck Row.

The incident took place between 4.15pm and 4.30pm yesterday at a property in St Johns Street. Two men were discovered at the house, one outside the back door and one on the inside close to the back door, which had been left insecure. The suspects then ran away out onto the main road.

Police were called and officers attended within minutes and searched the area, but were unable to locate the offenders. No items are believed to have been stolen.

The first man is described as white, aged about 18, approximately 5ft 7in, with blonde hair and a spotty complexion. He was wearing a dark coloured coat. The second man is described as black, also about 18 years old and around 5ft 7in, with afro-style hair and wearing a dark coloured coat.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the village or who has any information about this incident is asked to contact the Bury St Edmunds Priority Crime Team on 101 quoting MH/15/187, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
