Burglar caught by DNA on a hammer

A burglar was traced after his DNA was found on a hammer he used to smash into a Pakenham property.

Lee Nicholls, 28, broke into an outbuilding at a large house in Fen Road between April 20 and 23 and stole a petrol lawn mower, valued at £1,176, that has never been recovered, Ipswich Crown Court heard on Tuesday.

Nicholls, of Siloam Place, Ipswich, pleaded guilty to burglary and admitted breaching a suspended sentence order.

He was jailed for 10 weeks for the burglary and three months of the suspended sentence was activated,concurrently.
