Boots Opticians, Hotel Chocolat and Ask restaurant closing due to coronavirus pandemic

Boots Opticians is closing all its branches from the end of Wednesday.

There are two branches in Bury St Edmunds – on Cornhill and in Brentgovel Street.

The company says it has taken the decision to protect the health and wellbeing of customers and staff. It adds: "We are constantly monitoring the situation, working with government guidance and the NHS, and we will open our doors again as soon as we can."

Hotel Chocolat, which has a store in the Arc shopping centre has joined the list of shop closures as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, Ask restaurant, on Parkway, had been operating as takeaway and delivery but has now decided to close that service as well.

The company says it will be donating its ingredients to food banks and those who need it most.
